Thanks to Deb for hosting this blog hop - why don't you stop by and join in.
What makes a Disney parade so special? The floats? Probably not as every parade has floats. The dancers? I still think not. I think it is the characters. What other parade can have as many Disney characters as a Disney parade? (Hope you enjoy these 2 videos.)
Unless, of course, it was an EPCOT parade
I wonder why they don't do the Epcot parade any longer?!
ReplyDeleteI think it was a victim of the cutbacks when attendance dropped after 9/11.
DeleteHi, new follower from Wordless Wednesday! Love the pictures!
ReplyDeleteGrisel @ Living Life 2 Its Fullest
Welcome! Glad you have enjoyed!
DeleteAh yes, Tapestry of Dreams...I only saw it once in person, but I still have nightmares about those giant metallic people puppets. So creepy! Thanks for the walk down memory lane this evening :)
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed it - in both incarnations - but especially liked the music. Glad I have it available and was able to use it in this video. :-)
DeleteI love these pictures! Especially the one of Lilo and Stitch! :)
ReplyDeleteVery underrated duo. :-)
DeleteBy the way ... did you know that the software that the front desk at Disney resorts use to check you in is named LILO?
DeleteGreat shots, I really miss the Epcot Parade. I almost forgot about those metallic people, ha.
ReplyDeleteI do too - I thought it was unique within Disney parks.
DeleteWhat great videos you've created!! The shots and the music are fabulous! Where did you find the music? I really enjoyed the Epcot parade, wish they'd bring it all back. Even the giant silver people.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing and for joining in on the DWW Blog Hop fun today.
The music for the Magic Kingdom parade comes from a Disneyland Paris CD called "Les Parades En Musique 2008". The music for Tapestry of Dreams comes from a WDW CD called EPCOT: Tapestry of Dreams which includes the music from Tapestry of Nations and Tapestry of Dreams, as well as Illuminations.
DeleteGlad you enjoyed it.
Love the videos packed with all of the magical moments. I think that may be the parade that we saw at Epcot on our honeymoon. I remember watching it for a nice break in the hot sun while wondering around. Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteIt ran in one form or another from 1999-2001 I believe.
DeleteThanks for sharing these videos! It really does suck you right back in like it was yesterday :)
ReplyDeleteI've been watching them over and over since I created them. :-)
DeleteWell, that was fun! Great post, Mark. :o)
ReplyDeleteGlad you enjoyed it!
DeleteI love Disney parades! I can't wait to back to America so I can see another one. I'll have to enjoy this virtual parade post in the meantime. Thanks for sharing your videos!
ReplyDeleteThanks also for stopping by today. Great to meet you!
Best wishes,
Natasha in Oz
Thanks for visiting. (You have been to my Snap, Set & Song post as well, right? http://marksdarkthoughts.blogspot.com/2012/08/a-snap-set-and-song-winter.html ) I enjoyed visiting your site and hope to see you around here often as well. :-)
DeleteGreat videos with an awesome collection of photos. I have to agree with you - the characters are definitely what makes them special and the special Disney touches. They're the only reason my kids were able to sit still for more than 30 minutes and one of the things they looked forward to doing.
ReplyDeleteThe great thing about Disney parades is when we have 3 (or more) generations enjoying them together. :-)
DeleteTO THIS DAY, not a Disney trip goes by without my boys asking when they will bring the Tapestry of Nations (as they know it) back for round 2. Wasn't it amazing?? I only wish I had taken more photos at the time. Luckily, I can look at yours Mark!!
ReplyDeleteI know a lot of people who would like to see this parade brought back in one form or another.
