Day 3
We are going to get a late start today, as our son-in-law's mother will be driving from the west coast of Florida to join us at Disney's Animal Kingdom today, so my wife and I get a bit of a sleep-in before we have some breakfast and then relax until we get picked up.
Once in DAK, our first stop is at the FastPass dispenser for the Safari. Once all of our FastPasses are obtained, we walk to Camp Minnie Mickey to catch a performance of The Festival of the Lion King.
When the show is done, it is nearly time for our FastPasses so we walk back to Harambe.
There is still a bit of a wait, so we take refuge from the sun and the heat and find seats at the Dawa Bar. People are starting to find spots for the parade, but although we have seats right along the parade route, when the time comes to use our FastPasses, we leave the bar and take the short walk to Kilimanjaro Safari.
At this point, the unusual (for this time of year) heat has gotten to all of us, so we decide to leave the park and have an off property dinner. A bit of pin and souvenir shopping occurs before we leave the park.
It's been a short day at the park, and tomorrow will be a non-park day as my wife and I will be meeting some friends from college - one of which we hadn't seen in over 40 years - for a get together. We will return to the parks on Monday.
